Suggested DatesOctober - March
Home to over a billion people in arguably the world’s richest cultural landscape, India is an Asian photographic tour destination with no equal. This great nation boasts staggering geographical diversity ranging from deserts and forests to tropical, palm-lined shores and snow-capped peaks. India is of course also famous for its rich avifauna and iconic mammalian mega fauna, including the magnificent Bengal Tiger, and all of the above form the focus of our various Indian photography tours.
Our Varanasi “The Holy City” tour visit one of the oldest living cities in the world. Varanasi has been the ultimate Hindu pilgrimage for ages and offer unrivalled India Photography opportunities. We will explore the city and its citizens on foot, on cycle rickshaw and on several boat rides on the River Ganges in pursuit of the ‘Ultimate Anthropological Portraits’.
ORYX’s Taj Mahal Photo Tour offers guests the opportunity to photograph the gorgeous Taj Mahal, an architectural wonder that has to be seen to be believed! We also visit the Red Fort at Agra, which adds further substance to this cultural photographic trip. This departure perfectly complements our Varanasi departure, and as a duo they highlight some of the remarkable culture that India has to offer!
Tigers of India focuses on the Royal Bengal Tiger, which is one of the world’s most desired animals! Ranthambore National Park and Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve are two of the best places to see and photograph Tiger in its natural habitat and we visit both on this Tiger photography tour.
Post our Tigers of India departure, the Kaziranga “Land of Giants” Extension offers 4 nights photographing the rich mammal life of one of India’s top national parks. Kaziranga, which lies in the floodplain of the Brahmaputra River in Assam, has often been compared to African reserves because of the quality of its wildlife viewing as well as the large numbers of big game that reside within its borders. On account of its many Asian Rhinos, Asian Elephants and Water Buffalos, Kaziranga is locally referred to as the “Land of Giants”, and offers a superb India photo tour experience!
Our India photo tour is a unique experience not to be missed! Join ORYX in this unforgettable celebration of some of India’s most iconic mammals and kaleidoscope of cultures!!!
