Few countries in the world can claim to have the mystique that surrounds the tiny Himalayan nation of Bhutan. Essentially isolated from the intrusion of the modern world until the latter half of the 20th century, Bhutan offers, without doubt, one of most fascinating cultural experiences on earth. Thanks to a small population and its Buddhist traditions, Bhutan has avoided the environmental ravages that have left its neighbors’ forests sadly degraded, and all of the scenery which can be seen on our Bhutan Photo tour is quite spectacular.
Bhutan Photo Tours
Here majestic mountain passes littered with prayer flags give way to pristine forests often dominated by massive dzongs (temple-fortresses), and we will have an opportunity during our Bhutan Photo tour to view up close the impressive artwork that adorns these structures and interact with the devout Bhutanese people. One of the highlights of our Bhutan Photo tour will be photographing the Punakha Festival. Home to a spectacular dzong, Punakha was Bhutan’s winter capital for more than 300 years, and is still the winter residence of the Central Monks Body. During the festival, we will be privy to the various colorful dances and religious rites which occur during the Punakha festival – a must see event!
