From here you will road transfer to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to the Mara North Conservancy. After landing at the Airstrip, we will be transferred in a private safari vehicle to the beautifully positioned and intimate Ngare Serian Camp. After settling in and having lunch, we will leave on our long awaited first game drive in the private concession.
Overnight Ngare Serian
Days 2 to 4: Mara North Conservancy
Located in the heart of the Maasai Mara ecosystem, Ngare Serian Camp is the perfect base from which to explore the wonders of the Mara. The camp’s remote location means that we can experience the joy of the night sky saturated with stars on clear nights, all the while listening to the classic African sounds of the Lion’s booming roar, Hippos laughing in the river, the Leopard’s saw-sounding call and Spotted Hyaena vocalizing as they prowl through the darkness. Upon waking at dawn, we can expect tea, coffee and freshly-baked biscuits to ease us into a morning of game drives or bush walks across the conservancy, in the company of highly experienced local guides and wildlife rangers
From this location, we are in close proximity to some of the best wildlife activities found anywhere in the Mara North Conservancy, and we will explore the many riches that the area has to offer. Over the next two days, we can choose whether we would prefer to do packed breakfast and possibly lunches as well so as to maximize our time in the field, or return to the camp for lunch and relaxation after the morning drive.
Ngare Serian is situated on 1,500 acres of conservation area that is exclusive to them. This means that night drives, bush dinners, fishing in the river and walking safaris are all possible here.
Built in a wide and beautiful tree you will find Serian’s intimate and private hideaway; “The Nest”. This treehouse is far from what our childhood memories conjure up. Built on two wooden decks you will find your tented room awaiting you, overlooking the mighty Mara River and away from the main camp. This is a perfect place to spend a private night as you enjoy your dinner and drinks from the deck whilst looking out at the star-saturated night sky.
As the camps and treehouse are located in unfenced areas where animals roam freely, your Serian guides will be staying in a tent located not too far from The Nest should you need anything from them.

Day 5: Fly from Mara North, Clear Customs and fly to Serengeti South,
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Today marks the end of the incredible Kenya portion of your safari. At a time to be advised, you will fly on scheduled flight to Migori (approximately 30 minutes). Upon landing at Migori, you will road transfer to Tarime, Tanzania (drive time and border crossing approximately 1,5 hours). From Tarime you will fly on scheduled plane to the Serengeti (approximately 1 hour depending on the number of stops en-route), where a wonderful game drive will take us from the airstrip to Camp.
Overnight Serian Serengeti Mobile Kusini
Days 6 to 8: Serengeti South, Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Covering an incredible 15,000km² (5,792 square miles), the Serengeti is one of the world’s largest and most spectacular wildlife areas. Despite the vast space, the volume and concentration of game that we can expect to see is nothing short of astounding. There is little permanent water in the Serengeti and this, combined with a fairly regular rainfall pattern, has resulted in the incredible Wildebeest migration where up to two million large ungulates move between the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Our visit is timed so as to provide us with the best opportunity to bear witness to the unbelievable numbers of Wildebeest, Zebra and antelope in the southern Serengeti, an unrivalled and primeval wonder of the natural world!
Eruptions of Oldoinyo Lengai, the Maasai “Mountain of God”, have spread nutrient-rich ash on the southern plains, and it is this phenomenon that has made the grasses in the Ndutu / NCA area rich in the necessary minerals needed to nourish the new-born Wildebeest for the upcoming months. The incredible concentration of Wildebeest calves and Zebra foals is a sight to behold, and in addition attracts large numbers of predators who take full advantage of this protein boost! This area produces good numbers of Lion, Leopard and Spotted Hyena, however it is perhaps best known as one of Africa’s premier sites for the lithe, lightning fast Cheetah!
Besides being the ideal location for this Tanzanian safari to view and photograph Africa’s wildlife, the wide green-gold savannas dotted with Acacia trees also lends itself to some of the finest landscape photography in the world.
In addition to the above mentioned, there will certainly be a veritable feast of superb birdlife with over 500 species already recorded in the greater Serengeti area. The star birds however
include three Tanzanian endemics, namely Grey-breasted Spurfowl, Fischer’s Lovebird and Rufous-tailed Weaver (a Serengeti-Mara endemic). These birds can be found, together with a host of other species, such as the magnificent Saddle-billed Stork, up to six species of vulture and the very unattractive Marabou Stork (sometimes seen squabbling over the remains of a kill).
