Rwanda Gorilla Extension 2013

Our 4 day Rwanda Gorilla extension, which can be added to any of our South or East African expeditions, takes us to the bamboo-clad slopes of Volcanoes National Park. This is home to six Virunga Volcanoes where close photographic encounters with Mountain Gorilla are almost guaranteed. Here we have the opportunity to track the large Virunga race of these magnificent beasts, a separate subspecies from those found at Bwindi in Uganda. Although this Gorilla trek can be strenuous, staring into the eyes of one of these magnificent beasts from only a few feet away is nothing short of a life changing experience, and is rated by many to be the greatest wildlife experience on the planet! To boot, we have a good chance of seeing and photographing the beautiful Golden Monkey while exploring the large stands of bamboo that grace these verdant mountains. Bird photography here is also excellent, and this expedition is most definitely a must-do for any ardent wildlife and bird photographer.
