Providing our clients with the best photographic experiences and tutelage has always been a priority to us. In order to offer you more and go further in-depth into the world of wildlife photography, ORYX is proud to present our Best of Zululand Photo Workshop that will be held at the game-rich Zululand Rhino Reserve in Kwazulu Natal.
During this 5 day wildlife photo workshop, we will not only traverse this beautiful 23000 hectare “Big5” haven in search of its many treasures as we delve into the principles of wildlife photography, but also spend two full days in the amazing hides at Zimanga Private Game Reserve.
These hides were designed by world-renowned photographer, Bence Máté for photographers and built by the skillful hands of Owner/Photographer Charl Senekal.
During this wildlife photo workshop, we will cover a large variety of photography subjects with the end goal of leaving you with an arsenal of newly acquired knowledge and practical experiences that will make you a richer and more confident photographer.
Wildlife photography is an art wherein you have the freedom to express how you perceive your photographic subjects. There are no set rules to being creative, but there are guidelines for wildlife photography that will help you use your equipment to its full potential and in turn, produce more striking images.
During our post-processing sessions at our wildlife photography workshop, we will look at different ways to get the most out of your images through natural enhancement, as well as how to take your editing a step further to achieve a completely different style and appearance. The fun does not end in the bush when we press the shutter for the last time!
Understanding animal behavior is a key element to wildlife photography. The manner in which we approach wildlife, on foot or in a vehicle, is extremely important and can be the make or break of a perfect photographic opportunity. Each specie has their own comfort zones and during the workshop, we are going to look at ways to approach these animals in a safe manner that will least provoke any unnatural behavior while still enabling us to capture our desired photographs of them.
Social media has become one of the most effective platforms for sharing images on a global scale, as well as viewing images taken worldwide. During our wildlife photography workshop, we will look at social media and how it can affect our photography in a positive and a negative way.
As the saying goes, ‘a photograph is worth a thousand words’, so how you present your image will highly determine how people interpret it.
Another highlight of our workshop is how to master photographing in low-light situations. Our night drives accompanied with a spotlight sets the perfect scene for us to go out and explore the best camera settings to produce sharp images under difficult shooting conditions.
These are only a few of the topics we will be covering during the course of this photo workshop.
Other topics will include, but are not restricted to, the best composition of your photographic subject, preferred photographic equipment for wildlife photography, sunrise and sunset photography, as well as practicing with different technical and creative techniques, such as panning.
We look forward to having you joining us for what promises to be an amazing opportunity to master the different elements within wildlife photography and take your photographic skills to the next level.
Get ready to master wildlife photography!
